Giving for Living

The Annual Garage Sale provides an opportunity for The Settlement Home for Children to not only help the children we serve, but also the Central Texas non-profit community. Through our Giving for Living program on Sunday, The Settlement Home provides vouchers to more than 50 Central Texas non-profits. These non-profits distribute the $25 vouchers to their clients who are in need of essential items, such as clothing, baby clothes and toys, kitchen items and more. The clients use these vouchers to pay for items at the Garage Sale.

Sponsors are needed to support this program. If you are interested in sponsoring Giving for Living certificates, email development@settlementhome.org.

SpringFest

SpringFest celebrates the community service efforts of high school juniors in the Austin area. In 2012, 76 area high school juniors were honored as members of the Community Youth Council at the SpringFest event. The Community Leadership Award is also presented to an individual who has shown outstanding commitment to philanthropic programs. Russell Bridges was selected as the 2012 Community Leadership Award winner.

Held in the spring, this event honors the achievements of high school juniors and kicks off the beginning of their volunteer efforts with The Settlement Home for Children.
